Privacy Policy
GROUND is designed to work without an account and without cloud sync in the current version of the app. This policy explains what information the app stores, how that information is used, and what control a user has over it.
What GROUND stores
GROUND stores the following information locally on the user’s device:
- recent skills used in the app
- check-in history, including selected feeling, skill, and intensity ratings
- journal entries the user chooses to save in the app
This data is stored only on the device in the current version of GROUND.
What GROUND does not do
- GROUND does not require a user account.
- GROUND does not sync personal data to a remote server.
- GROUND does not sell personal data.
- GROUND does not use personal data for advertising.
- GROUND does not use AI to generate coping guidance in the current version.
Contacts permission
GROUND may request access to contacts only if the user chooses the feature that helps them select a trusted person to reach out to. Contacts permission is not required for the rest of the app.
Data control
Users can clear locally saved app history from within the app. In the current version, clearing local history removes saved insight and journal data stored by the app on that device.
Health and crisis information
GROUND offers coping tools and guidance. It is not medical care, therapy, diagnosis, or crisis response. If a user may act on thoughts of harming themselves or someone else, or is otherwise not safe, they should contact emergency services or a crisis support service right away.
Changes to this policy
If GROUND later adds accounts, analytics, crash reporting, backups, or cloud sync, this privacy policy will need to be updated to reflect those changes.
